The the meaning of ‘Dindi’:

The local short-hand term for Murrindindi, referencing the Shire of which Yea is situated.

Dindi also has origins meaning ‘with a sense of direction’. This emphasises our strong focus on bringing light and clarity to the patient’s health journey.

We utilise Gonstead technique

Gonstead Chiropractic is a very specific technique used by Chiropractors. It draws on multiple facets of analysis, and the adjustments involved are specific and effective.

As Chiropractors we assess for spinal and nerve dysfunction. Treating these enables the body to restore adequate communication signals from the brain to the body (organs, muscles, vital functions). Having your body functioning optimally, allows the natural healing processes to get to work so you can be the best version of you.

Never seen a Chiropractor before?

There are many different techniques that Chiropractors can use. Each vary significantly. Your experience at one clinic can be vastly different to another.

We are proud to have a variety of different options to use in our adjustments, with no way being more proficient than the other. We can cater for manual adjustments as well as those who are hesitant about the “crack”, and low force adjusting. It is important to note that the “crack” sound is a release of pressure within the joint space, and is not always indicative of a great adjustment.

Every treatment is tailored to the individual and their spinal needs. We also tailor treatment for those with lowered bone density and Osteoporosis.

What to expect at your Initial Appointment?

  • Our practice is inviting and warm. Check in on the iPad to let your chiropractor know you are here whilst they finish up with the previous patient. You’ll then be welcomed in with friendly face.

  • We will get you set up in the treatment room for your consult with your Chiropractor. A thorough history and information on your presenting issue is taken.

  • A ‘Nervoscope’ is one instrumentation of assessment. It feels like two fingers running down either side of your spine, looking for signals of nerve pressure/irritation.

  • Thorough assessment of the spine and/or joints is performed. Analysis including visualisation, static and motion palpation.

Females will be given a gown to change into- this allows us to accurately assess your spine. For Male patients, we will ask if you’re comfortable having your shirt off for assessment and treatment. Gowns are available to all patients if they prefer.

  • If X-rays are clinically indicated, these will be taken onsite at your first appointment, thoroughly analysed, then discussed with you.

  • Treatment plan communicated with any further investigations required acknowledged and informed consent obtained.

  • Necessary treatment required is conducted in this initial visit.

  • Every patient is different, there is no one size fits all approach here. No lock-in treatment plans, No paying in advance. Just honest, reliable, consistent Chiropractic care.

What is Gonstead Technique?

The Gonstead System is taught in many Chiropractic Universities in Australia and around the world. It was founded by Dr Clarence Gonstead in 1923. The focus on thorough analysis and precise adjustments were influenced by his engineering background.

Gonstead Chiropractic is evidence based, and patient centred. The technique revolves around core principles of history, visualisation, instrumentation, static palpation, motion palpation, and X-ray analysis.

“When all this information is combined, a trained Gonstead Doctor will immediately let you know if your health situation is a Chiropractic case. If it is not, a referral to the appropriate health provider will be given. If your case is a Chiropractic case, the trained Gonstead practitioner's goal is to utilise the dynamics of the effectual Gonstead Specific Adjustment to get you back to optimal health as quickly as possible, with no "pre-planned" treatment programs. The goal of a Gonstead practitioner is to get a patient back on the road to health as quickly as possible and then leave the patient alone. In the words of Dr. Gonstead, "Find the subluxation, correct it, and then leave it alone".

A great deal of skill and knowledge is required to perform a Gonstead adjustment. Your Gonstead chiropractor has spent many years developing this level of expertise, including 5 years of tertiary study and ongoing post graduate seminars, workshops and private study.

The Adjustment: In the trained hands of the Gonstead chiropractor, the adjustment is simply a gentle direct movement of the restricted spinal segment towards normal alignment and mobility.

Gonstead technique is adapted to suit all ages.
